Wow, can it be a whole month [almost] since I've posted?
Where does the time go?
It's hard to imagine [at least for me] but Christmas decorations are going up in the stores already.
I love this time of year. Even with very little change in the weather here in AZ it's clear that Winter is approaching. Must be the mind-set.
Fun and anticipation...
Speaking of anticipation, I received a very promising e-mail from my editor at WRP. Seems they are expanding because they are doing so well [yay!] and my manuscript is being passed on to the new editor of The Last Rose of Summer line with a strong recommendation. While that doesn't mean a final positive answer, it's a definite step in the right diirection.

Still no word on my novel submission but I'm still holding positive thoughts.
However, my mind has been troubled by other thoughts these last few days. I found out on Friday that a girl [she is/was a woman but I will always think of her as a twenty-something girl] whom I was once close to died this past summer. Dyan and I hadn't been in touch for over thirty years but whenever I thought about the first few years after I graduated from nursing school, memories of Dyan are right in there with everything else. We attendedth esame snursing schol in NYC. Dyan graduated a year behind me. She and I worked the same shift at the same hospital [different units] after graduation and we hung out often after work. Dyan had an infectious laugh and a wonderful sense of humor. She was a fun, caring person to be with and it's hard for me now to reconcile with the fact that she is no longer in this world. I wish her peace.

Still no word on my manuscript and I am still keeping good thoughts. I have decided no news is definitely good news. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
On another front...some fellow writers and I are looking into starting our own writing group. We have been members of another group that is probably going to disband very soon and we don't want the networking, learning opportunities to end. So, a few of us are banding together in the hopes of getting another group off the ground. But there is so much to consider! Far more than I ever anticipated. This may take some re-thinking on our part. It might be easier to just join up with another group already in existence.

It's been over a week since I posted.
Still waiting to hear back about my submission to The Wild Rose Press. I'm hoping no news is good news.
I've been studying blogs of fellow writers in an effort to get a better handle on this blog thing. Some seem to use this space as a forum to talk about causes and such. I don't feel comfortable with that so I will still to writing issues.
High on my agenda right now is plotting novel #2 and getting that to be the best it can be so hopefully the writing will be better and better. I'm taking some online courses and I highly recommend this route. It's painless and the feedback is wonderful. The writers who give their time this way are true wonders in my book.
The various online RWA chapters are an excellent resource. Getting on their listserves is a great way to get valuable information and network.
I'll post some links when I figure out how to do that. :>)

It's Sunday morning, very early, and since I can't sleep, I thought I would update instead.
I got some wonderful news. The editor at Wild Rose Press who had my partial under consideration asked for the full manuscript yesterday. I immediately sent it out and now I'm anxiously counting the days until I hear her verdict. That might have accounted for the lack of sleep last night!

This is my first ever blog so I'm anxious to do it right.
My writing has been consuming me lately and I really wish I didn't have this pesky day job so that I could devote myself to writing full-time. But the puppies and kitties have to eat so I'm going to try to do justice to both.
Right now, I'm hard at work trying to get novel #2 up and going. I have several pages written but I have decided that I need to take this weekend to really tighten up the plot before I go any further.
A partial of my first novel "Second to None" is currently with an editor from Wild Rose Press www.thewildrosepress.com and I'm trying to be very calm while I wait to hear back from her.
Have a great weekend and happy writing to all!
